Pimp Your Rice Cakes: All we did was dip these in melted dark chocolate and than dipped in whatever we had in the house!! almonds, pumpkin seeds, pistachios, chia seeds, craisins and shredded coconut!
I'm the mom in this blog, Sharon. I have always loved fitness, being healthy and eating right! I have a crazy busy life as a fitness instructor. At this time, I've streamed lined what I'm teaching, my three favourite specialties: Zumba, Yoga and Barre classes. I love to motivate and inspire others to stay healthy, fit and have fun doing it! No matter how chaotic my life get, I still always make time to cook healthy and delicious meals for my family. Its a passion of mine, I love doing it! I guess my passion has finally rubbed off on my daughter Cassie (her story is next). We are the mother and daughter duo behind this blog! We both have developed a love for lite, clean, skinny and healthy cooking as we'll share our favourite recipes with all of you. We'll also share our favourite products and restaurant menu items.
Hi, i'm Cassie, Sharons daughter. Unlike my mom I was never into fitness or cared about eating healthy. I played a few sports here and there but that was about it. I never was happy with the way I looked and felt. I could have changed that, but I wasn't motivated to do so. Last year 2013/14, I spent my year on a Gap year program in Israel, and I have to say thats where my journey had really started! Living in a middle eastern country, you would think that with all of the food and amazing things to indulge in, I would have gained weight, but it was opposite. I started off joining in with a group of my peers who worked out every day. We were doing the Insanity workout once or twice a week for the first month, then I started doing little workouts in my room with my roommate. I wasn't eating the healthiest, but I started decreasing my portion sizes of what I ate. That is what really changed things for me. I lived in the centre of the city of Jerusalem. I was very active, pretty much walking everywhere by foot. After getting home from Israel I worked at a summer camp and tried my best to stay as health conscious as possible while being there. After summer camp was over, coming home I felt more motivated and refreshed!! I really started to focus on clean healthy eating while staying active. I now know that this is a new lifestyle for me and I am never going back to where I was a year ago.
